STUDENT ENTERPRISE AWARDS- CITY FINAL WINNERS!
We have lifted the article below and the photo directly from the Institute of Education Website. Many of you will know Alex Killilea.
He is a neighbour and friend to our family and we couldn’t be prouder. Alex is of course a member of RIAG – along with his fantastic parents – Bernie and Mick – and his sister Lana. Behind every hard working Maths genius is an amazing family – and the Killilea’s can claim that prize too. Well done Alex – a stunning achievement as a result of a lot of hard work. Well done Bernie and Mick for creating the environment to encourage this commitment and well done Lana for all the love.
A big congratulations to M4TH5 Ireland, a team of 4th and 5th year students from the Institute, who won first place in the City Final of the Student Enterprise Awards last Tuesday.
Alex Kililea, Elias Chiam, Niall Carolan, Ethan Fibikar and Aaron Dinah will now go on to compete in the National Final in Croke Park on May 3rd.
The team developed M4TH5 Ireland, an online location for like-minded lovers of maths to share their love of the subject and access learning resources.
The Student Enterprise Programme, an initiative run by the Network of Local Enterprise Offices of Ireland, is Ireland’s largest and most successful student enterprise programme with over 23,000 second level students taking part each year.
Students from 1st year to 6th year get to set up and run their own business and find out what it’s really like to be an entrepreneur by taking part in this 8 month long enterprise education learning programme.
We’ll be following their progress over the next few weeks and wish the team every success in the finals in May!
You can visit the M4TH5 Ireland website here and follow them on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.
