We have been very busy establishing Barnardos now national Post Adoption Service and settling in new staff to our new centres in Cork and Galway. We are now open to referrals for individual therapeutic sessions with children and teenagers or for parents consultations. Our post adoption helpline is available each Tuesday and Thursday morning at (01)4546388 or parents can call staff in our individual centres for support and advice in confidence. Tara and Cristin are in Cork, Anne and Denise are in Galway and Kasia, Andrew, Celine and Christine are in Dublin.
We have started this year to run our groups and workshops for parents, children and teenagers in Cork and Galway. They have all booked out very quickly and we will be offering further workshops from our new regional Post Adoption centres (as well as Dublin) in 2020.
I also wanted to let you know that Barnardos Post Adoption Service for children, teenagers and parents is to be independently evaluated. This is really good news for the service and hopefully will help to secure our future. I will be in touch with you again shortly with further details and an invitation to your members who have availed of our services to take part.
