The Russian Irish Adoption Group was formed to provide a support network for the families of children -adopted from Russia. We know from the Adoption Authority of Ireland that there are at least 1607 children of Russian descent in Ireland and another 400 approx from surrounding areas.
While 2000 seems like a significant number – the reality is that in a country [Republic of Ireland ] with a population of 4.8 million – the adopted group make up a mere .04% of total population. With a group this small – we think it is important that we stick together and have a base RIAG.ie – where we can share news, articles of interest and of course events.
